3/19/18 Someone Loved this Garden Once

The neglect we found just under the fresh coat of paint and conveniently positioned drop ceilings inside the house led us to believe that no one had taken but cursory care of the place in a generation. The yard was similarly neglected, gussied up to sell but the infrastructure was crumbling. But, someone loved this garden once. There are the sure signs deep down.  Someone used beautiful expensive railroad ties to build forty feet of 30" raised bed and filled them with rich beautiful soil. There are roses which someone pruned and cared for and morning glories which typically only grow from seed. The lilies have grown so abundant they have busted past the edges of the beds.

A secret garden indeed
